Drone logistics start-up Skye Air has launched its AI-powered doorstep drone delivery service in Gurugram, marking a significant step forward in last-mile logistics innovation in India.

The company said the new service leverages artificial intelligence for route optimisation, real-time traffic assessment, and automated fleet management to ensure faster and more reliable deliveries. The AI engine dynamically adjusts flight paths based on weather conditions, airspace restrictions and order volumes, improving operational efficiency and safety.

Initially focused on high-value and time-sensitive shipments such as e-commerce parcels, healthcare supplies and essential documents, the service aims to cut delivery timelines significantly compared to conventional road-based transport. Company officials stated that deliveries within select zones of Gurugram can now be completed within minutes.

The rollout follows successful pilot trials conducted in controlled corridors and builds on Skye Air’s earlier drone-based logistics operations across various parts of the country. With Gurugram emerging as a key urban technology hub, the company sees strong potential for scaling autonomous delivery networks across the National Capital Region.

Skye Air said it is working closely with regulators and local authorities to ensure compliance with aviation norms and safety protocols. The firm plans to expand the AI-powered drone delivery model to additional cities in phases, subject to regulatory approvals and infrastructure readiness.

Industry observers believe AI-integrated drone logistics could transform urban supply chains by reducing congestion, lowering carbon emissions and improving delivery predictability, particularly in densely populated cities.
