The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) had the honour of receiving H.E. Ms Cham Nimul, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, on her three-day official visit to India. The Minister arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport on February 22, 2026, where she was accorded a warm welcome by senior FIEO officials and representatives of the Cambodian Embassy.

The Minister was received by Mr Suvidh Shah, Additional Director General, FIEO, in the presence of H.E. Ms Rath Many, Ambassador of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, Mr Rohit Tejpal, Deputy Director, FIEO, along with other officials from the Embassy and the organisation.

The visit marks a significant step in further strengthening bilateral trade and economic engagement between India and Cambodia. During her upcoming interactions at Niryat Bhawan, FIEO’s headquarters in New Delhi, discussions are expected to focus on expanding trade volumes, promoting sector-specific collaboration, and addressing market access issues faced by exporters from both countries.

Key areas likely to be explored include cooperation in textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and processed foods, automotive components, and digital trade facilitation. Both sides are also expected to deliberate on enhancing connectivity, easing customs procedures, and fostering greater participation of small and medium enterprises in bilateral trade.

The engagements align with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy, which seeks to deepen economic partnerships and regional integration with neighbouring and partner countries in the region.

FIEO officials stated that the Minister’s visit presents an important opportunity to boost two-way trade, encourage joint ventures, and promote greater investment flows. The visit is expected to create new avenues for Indian exporters and manufacturers looking to expand their footprint in Southeast Asia, while also facilitating increased Cambodian participation in the Indian market.

Industry stakeholders view the high-level interaction as a positive development that could lead to stronger institutional cooperation and a more robust trade partnership in the years ahead.
