State-owned India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) plans to double its exposure to Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to ₹6,000 crore in the current financial year, as part of its strategy to diversify investments and strengthen support for India’s infrastructure sector.

The institution currently has an exposure of ₹3,000 crore across nine InvITs as of March 31, 2026. Managing Director Rohit Rishi stated that the company aims to scale this to ₹6,000 crore by March 2027, underscoring growing confidence in the InvIT model.

Rishi highlighted that infrastructure will play a central role in sustaining India’s long-term economic growth and achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. He noted that opportunities across transport, urban infrastructure, and clean energy are expanding, backed by strong policy support and a robust project pipeline.

“IIFCL remains committed to supporting India’s infrastructure journey by enabling financing that drives growth while promoting sustainability, resilience, and innovation,” he said, adding that the focus is on building a diversified, high-quality portfolio aligned with national priorities.

Financially, IIFCL remains strong, with a capital adequacy ratio of 21% and net NPAs at just 0.3% as of December 2025.

Established in 2006 and registered as an NBFC-ND-IFC with the Reserve Bank of India since 2013, IIFCL provides long-term funding for viable infrastructure projects.

The company reported a 39% rise in net profit to ₹2,165 crore for FY25, compared to ₹1,552 crore in the previous fiscal. It also achieved record annual sanctions of ₹51,124 crore and disbursements of ₹28,501 crore during the year.

Maintaining its growth momentum, IIFCL has already surpassed last year’s sanction levels, reaching ₹53,217 crore as of January 31, 2026, with disbursements at ₹25,470 crore, positioning itself for another strong financial performance.
