PepsiCo India has announced a significant expansion of its green logistics network with the launch of an electric vehicle (EV) Green Corridor on the Kosi–Pataudi route, marking a major step towards decarbonising its supply chain operations.

The corridor, developed in collaboration with Kalyani Powertrain Limited, will deploy eight electric container trucks, collectively expected to cover approximately 4.8 lakh electric kilometres annually. The initiative is aimed at reducing emissions in long-haul freight while demonstrating the commercial viability and scalability of EV adoption in logistics.

The corridor was inaugurated in the presence of Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, alongside senior representatives from PepsiCo India and its partner organisations.

Beyond long-haul electrification, PepsiCo India is also advancing sustainability across other segments of its logistics network. The company has electrified more than 400 distributor-linked vehicles nationwide, focusing on last-mile delivery. In the National Capital Region (NCR), over 80 CNG-powered vehicles have been deployed through logistics partners to reduce emissions in urban transport operations.

These initiatives reflect a comprehensive, multi-layered approach encompassing linehaul freight, urban distribution, and last-mile delivery, aligning with the company’s broader sustainability goals.

Speaking at the launch, Chaudhary commended the initiative, noting that such industry-led efforts support the government’s push towards cleaner mobility and sustainable industrial growth.

Jagrut Kotecha emphasised that sustainability is central to the company’s operations, highlighting that the EV corridor, fleet electrification, and CNG deployment are part of a larger effort to build a cleaner, more efficient, and future-ready supply chain through ecosystem partnerships.

Echoing this, Pankaj Sonalkar said the initiative demonstrates how electric mobility can be effectively integrated into commercial logistics with strong collaboration across technology, infrastructure, and operations.

The project also involves logistics partners Vayudoot Road Carriers and New Trishul Transport Services, supporting the deployment of EVs and strengthening sustainable supply chain capabilities.

Aligned with PepsiCo India’s ‘PepsiCo Positive (pep+)’ sustainability strategy, the EV Green Corridor is expected to serve as a scalable model for broader adoption across key freight routes, contributing to India’s transition towards low-carbon logistics.
